The Region of Central Greece, within the framework of its responsibilities, collaborated with the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and in particular with the Department of Communication and Mass Media of the latter, for the creation of a special digital platform in which, after research, useful data on the prehistory, myths and geomythological characteristics of the region and specifically the valley of Muses in Boeotia were collected.
The project was inspired by the realization that certain sites in our country, of particular natural beauty and of outstanding importance from the point of view of Greek and world culture, have so far not received the promotion and care they deserve, with the result that the Greek state is deprived of significant resources due to the lack of exploitation of their tourist potential and, in general, of the glamour and radiance they could radiate both within the country and to the international community. In this respect, it is indicative that in the areas in question, the organisation of information for visitors and stakeholders ranges from incomplete to rudimentary.
The project was deemed necessary and is of benefit to the local community. The selected areas are located within the spatial competence of the Region of Central Greece - Boeotia and the implementation of the project contributes to the promotion and upgrading of the region and will attract many visitors and researchers.
